Company liquidation and closure services in Qatar
To close a company in Qatar, you first put it under liquidation, then delete its CR. Both stages run through the Company Closure service on the Qatar Single Window. A liquidator settles debts and prepares final accounts before the CR is deleted. We help you plan each stage and prepare the file.

A CR or permit must be valid before it can be deleted.
- Decide to dissolve
The partners’ decision, recorded in the CR and published in two daily newspapers.
- Appoint the liquidator
By the partners or the general assembly; the appointment is published.
- Notify creditors
By registered letter, or published notice, with at least 45 days to claim.
- Settle the debts
Staff first, then the State, then rent, then other debts by law.
- Delete the CR
Once the final accounts are approved, within 30 days; then cancel the tax registration.

Common questions about closing a company in Qatar
What is liquidation in Qatar?
Liquidation is the stage in which a dissolved company settles its affairs. The company keeps its legal personality only as far as liquidation needs, and adds “under liquidation” to its name. During that time the liquidator gathers in what the company is owed and sells its assets. Creditors are paid, and the final accounts go to the partners for approval.

How is a CR cancelled in Qatar?
After liquidation, you ask for the main CR to be deleted through the Company Closure service on the Single Window. You attach the liquidator’s final account, Ministry of Labour approval and, where the Single Window requires it, a General Tax Authority no-objection letter. Deleting the main CR with all branches has no fee.

How do I close a company in Qatar?
You start by passing the partners’ decision to dissolve and appointing a liquidator. The dissolution is recorded in the CR and published. Creditors are then notified by the liquidator, who settles the debts and draws up final accounts. Once the partners approve them, the main CR is deleted and the tax registration is cancelled.

The employees. Once the liquidation costs are met, the liquidator’s fee among them, the Commercial Companies Law sets the order of payment. Amounts owed to staff come first.
