CR Renewal and Company Amendments in Qatar
Under the Commercial Register Law, you apply to renew your commercial registration (CR) with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) in the 30 days before it expires, and you record any change to your company within 30 days. Both are done online through the Qatar Single Window. We help you check your documents, prepare each step and follow the application to the end.

Adding an activity to your CR, or changing partners, capital or address
One request on the Single Window’s Comprehensive Update can carry a single change or several at once: trade name, legal structure, activities, capital and ownership, managers and board, location, or the contract. Expect a day or two.
Adding an activity to the CR takes the partners’ approval under the memorandum, or the owner’s consent where there is one owner. If the activity is regulated, its regulator has to approve it as well.

Common questions about CR renewal and changes
How do I renew my CR online in Qatar?
Online, on the Qatar Single Window’s Comprehensive Renewal service. Log in with a Tawtheeq account and a valid Qatar ID; your name has to be on the CR or the permit. Choose a term from one to five years. Every branch renews along with the main CR.
How much is CR renewal in Qatar?
QAR 500 for a CR with one activity, according to the Single Window. Add QAR 300 for every extra activity, QAR 100 for each branch CR and QAR 500 for the commercial permit, plus Qatar Chamber fees. The page is silent on whether these are charged per year of a longer renewal, so check the total before you pay.
How do I add a partner to my CR in Qatar?
Use the Comprehensive Update service on the Single Window. For a limited liability company, a change to the memorandum needs the votes of partners who hold three quarters of the capital, unless the memorandum asks for more. An amendment that is not in Arabic and notarised is void.
How do I check CR validity in Qatar?
Start with the CR number, which every registered company has to display at its premises and on its papers. With it you can search the Single Window register of closed and liquidating firms, or request the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s Regulatory Record Report. A Qatar Financial Centre company appears in the QFC public register instead.

Do I need to renew my CR before I close the company?
Yes, if it has expired. The Single Window deletes only a valid CR or commercial permit, so an expired one is renewed first. To close the company you then go through two stages on the Company Closure service: liquidation, which costs QAR 300 to start, and deleting the main CR with its branches, which has no fee.
